Lehigh Valley Families Together, Inc. (LVFT) provides
foster care services for children and their families in
Lehigh and Northampton Counties in eastern Pennsylvania. Many families in our
community encounter difficulties raising and caring for
their children. Some families experience situations that
prevent them from providing a safe and nurturing
environment for their children. When that happens, the
children need to be placed in foster homes where they
are safely cared for until their parents are able to
resume caring for them.
LVFT specializes in reuniting children with their birth
or legal family. Because of our strong commitment to the
biological/legal family, we call our program the
Resource Family Care Program. Our goal is to shorten the
length of time children stay in foster care and help
birth parents build a family that will be stable,
emotionally and physically safe, and promote the
well-being of all family members. It’s different from
traditional foster care because we ask our foster
parents to be willing to work directly with children’s
parents. For example, you may be asked to accommodate
phone calls and visits with the parents.
We need foster parents who will provide a caring,
nurturing temporary home, and help the children develop
positive relationships with teachers, friends,
biological parents, and others. LVFT staff will work
with you every step of the way to provide support and
training to care for the foster children. If you are
interested in opening your home and heart to children in
need of love and guidance, we want to hear from you.
