To Foster Parents

A Lehigh Valley Families Together staff team works with you and with each child placed in your home. We offer training and interaction with other foster parents to provide you with all of the information necessary to assist the children. We provide 24-hour on-call service.

Foster parents are paid a daily reimbursement for each child placed in your home. Health insurance covering children’s medical, dental, vision, and therapy expenses as well as most prescriptions is provided.

Finally, as a LVFT foster parent, you will experience one of the most rewarding jobs you’ll ever have. Providing care, nurturing and supervision for children who need it can make a difference in a child’s life.

To Referring Agencies

Lehigh Valley Families Together is focused on the belief that the intact natural family is the best and first option for children, whenever possible. Our view is that kinship care or foster care should be simply a pass-through and very temporary situation while we work with the family to help them do whatever is necessary to gain the return of their child/children. This allows us to have a family preservation focus whether or not the children are currently with their families.

LVFT provides a full range of case management, counseling, foster care, education, and community-linking activities. Our clients are families who are experiencing problems and are at-risk of having their children removed from their home, as well as families whose children have already been placed but are returning home. Our services are provided by family worker teams. The team works together with each family on their caseload, conducting in-home contacts, phone contacts and case management activities. We maintain creative, flexible responses to client needs by developing or adjusting programs whenever possible.

LVFT maintains a close working relationship with our referral agencies, attending meetings with referring agency staff to review the plan and progress of each client family. Timely reports are provided. Court testimony is a regular part of our services. Each team is supported by experienced supervisors who provide guidance and problem solving on a regular basis.

We establish and maintain respectful, synergistic partnerships with other entities in the community. Our business practices are driven by the best interests of the clients we serve – both families and referring agencies. All services are provided without regard to race, color, religious creed, disability, ancestry, national origin, age or sex.
